Habituation to human presence often leads to animals seeking out people, which can result in injuries to humans, but also puts the animals at risk from boats, fishing gear, or even intentional harm. Ultimately, the best way to appreciate these fascinating creatures is from a safe distance, respecting their wild nature and the powerful predators they are, despite their inquisitive demeanor.
